A recommender system is anything that decides what a user sees next and in what order. Not only social feeds. Product carousels, “people you may know”, ranking on your own site and marketplace matching logic all count.

New York’s SAFE for Kids Act final rules hit the State Register on 29 July 2026 and the law bites on 25 January 2027.
California’s SB 976 starts requiring an age check on 1 January 2027.
